How to use Blueprint without leaving your EHR!

Updated over a month ago

Important

  • To use the Blueprint browser extension you must have a Documentation Automation plan. Users with only an Evidence-based Care plan will not be able to use the browser extension.

Overview

Do you need to use Blueprint without leaving your EHR? Now you can with Blueprint's browser extension for Google Chrome!

Within the extension, you can:

  • Record a session (in-person or telehealth)

  • Generate and copy Notes, Summaries, and Transcripts

  • Add a new client to Blueprint

  • Manage your Note Preferences

The extension sits in the upper-right corner of your screen on top of whatever page you're on so you can use Blueprint without leaving your EHR, calendar, telehealth platform, etc.

How to install the browser extension

  1. From within Google Chrome, navigate to Blueprint's Extension page in the Chrome Web Store

  2. Click the blue Add to Chrome button in the upper-right

  3. When prompted, click Add extension

That's it! The extension has been added and is ready for use.

How to use the browser extension

Recording a session with the extension is almost exactly like recording it within Blueprint itself, just smaller!

  1. From your EHR (or any website you'd like present during your session) click the Blueprint "B" in the upper-right corner of Google Chrome. You may be prompted to login with your Blueprint credentials.

  2. Choose a client profile or add a new client.

  3. Click Start Recording

  4. Select your microphone and test it by speaking out loud. You should see the Input Level indicator light up with green if your audio is successfully being captured.

  5. Select your session setting, either in-person or telehealth. If telehealth, indicate whether or not you're using headphones and share your browser audio if prompted.

  6. Click Start Recording. If you can, keep an eye on the Input Level indicator throughout your session to ensure that Blueprint has access to your session.

  7. Once your session has ended, click End Session

  8. Define your Session Type, Note Type, and Treatment Approach. These help craft your Note.

  9. Click Generate Note

And that's it! A Note, Summary, and Transcript will generate and display within a couple of minutes in the browser extension window as well on the client's profile in Blueprint. You can copy/paste the content directly from the browser extension window or access it anytime from the client's profile in Blueprint.

πŸ’‘ If a note couldn't generate, you may see this error message: "Unfortunately we could not process a transcript for this session. This session will not be counted towards your usage."

This happens if Blueprint's access to your audio was blocked, therefor there was no content recorded to generate a Note from.

But there's still hope for a note! We recommend using our dictation feature to generate a Note for this session. Blueprint will walk you through the dictation and generate a Note for you just as if you had recorded it.
