Using Magic Edit and Memory to fine-tune your Progress Notes

How to quickly customize your Progress Notes!

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Does your Progress Note need a bit of fine-tuning? Perhaps you'd like them written in a more casual tone of voice, or to include direct client quotes?

Quickly tell Blueprint to regenerate the Note according to your needs with Magic Edit! (And optionally, save those edits to Memory so they're automatically applied to future Notes!)

What is "Magic Edit"?

"Magic Edit" is a powerful tool that lives within each Progress Note at Blueprint. It enables you to quickly refine the Notes you've generated.

Occasionally, a Note may need a few adjustments. In those cases, you can instantly give Blueprint specific feedback or instruction (like "make the subjective section longer" or "refer to the client as 'patient'") and Blueprint will automatically re-generate the Note based on your instructions.

Magic Edit instructions can either be single use or saved to "Memory" for future use.

πŸ’‘ Magic Edit keeps you in control while also saving you time by instantly adjusting the Note according to your needs.

What is "Memory"?

β€œMemory” enables you to save your Magic Edit instructions so they’re automatically applied to future Progress Notes.

If you find yourself making the same edits repeatedly, you can save those edits to "Memory". Once saved, your edits become instructions that will apply to your future Notes of that specific type (e.g. SOAP, DAP).

You can manage the "Memory" anytime within the Magic Edit panel, located on every Progress Note.

πŸ’‘ Memory helps you stay consistent across sessions, while saving time and effort.

How to edit a Progress Note with Magic Edit and save your edit to Memory

  1. After a Progress Note has been generated, click the Magic Edit button in the lower-right corner of the Note

  2. In the side panel, type out (in natural language) any changes or preferences you'd like made on the Note. If the edits to automatically apply to all of your future Notes of this specific Note Type, check the box next to Save to Memory for future Notes.

πŸ’‘ If you're saving Magic Edits to Memory, be sure to avoid using client-specific instructions or PHI. For edits that you only want applied once, to this specific Note, do not check the "Save to Memory" box.

  3. Click the Generate new note button and that's it -- a new version of the Note will generate immediately and the saved edits will automatically apply to all of your future Progress Notes for this specific Note Type. πŸŽ‰

πŸ’‘ Magic Edits do not count towards your Note usage, so feel free to use it whenever necessary to fine-tune your Notes.

How to remove saved preferences from Memory

  1. Navigate to "Memory" by opening any existing Progress Note, then click the Magic Edit button in the lower-right corner of the Note

  2. Click Manage

  3. Click the trash can icon next to any instruction you'd like to remove from Memory or Clear Blueprint's memory to remove all saved edits for that specific Note Type

  4. Click Delete, acknowledging that the change is permanent

  5. And that's it! You can now back out of the Memory panel and leave the Progress Note.
