Overview: Treatment Plans with Blueprint

Updated over a month ago

Treatment Plans are a key part of providing high-quality, goal-oriented care — and Blueprint makes creating and managing them easier than ever. This guide walks through what Treatment Plans are, why they matter, and how Blueprint supports you in using them effectively.

📋 Why Treatment Plans Matter

A Treatment Plan is more than just a formality — it’s a collaborative roadmap for therapy. It helps ensure that:

• Care is structured and intentional

• Goals are clearly defined and measurable

• Clients stay engaged and aligned on progress

• Documentation supports clinical best practices

In short, Treatment Plans create clarity — for both you and your clients.

⚙️ Two ways to create Treatment Plans in Blueprint

There are two types of Treatment Plans in Blueprint:

  • Blueprint-Generated Plans

After a client has had one or two sessions, Blueprint can generate a Treatment Plan based on their recent Progress Notes. These plans are created directly in the platform and can be edited at any time.

  • Manually-Uploaded Plans

If you’ve already created a Treatment Plan outside of Blueprint, you can upload it to the client’s profile as a PDF. These are view-only once uploaded.

🧵 The Golden Thread: Keeping Everything Connected

Blueprint’s Treatment Plans are designed with Golden Thread documentation in mind, helping ensure consistency across all clinical notes. Once a Treatment Plan is saved and accepted, that client’s future Progress Notes will automatically tie back to it — making it easy to track progress and comment on specific goals over time.

This means:

  • Treatment goals, interventions, and progress notes are all interconnected

  • Each component of care ties back to the client’s presenting concerns and clinical needs

  • You spend less time duplicating content and more time focusing on your client
