Session details are set when starting a session, but they can be updated afterward.

This article covers how to update key session details even after the session has ended and the note has been generated.

  • Note type

    • DAP, SOAP, Intake, etc

  • Session type

    • Individual or Couple

  • Treatment approach

    • CBT, EMDR, etc

  • Setting

    • Telehealth or in-person

  • Start time

    • Automatically timestamped when recording begins

  • End time

    • Automatically timestamped when recording ends

  • Duration

    • Calculated from Start time and End time

    • Updating either timestamps will automatically adjust the Duration

How to update session details

  1. Open the Session Record

  2. Locate the fields you want to update from the left sidebar and click Edit

  3. Make the changes, then save

Good to know

  • Updating certain fields will regenerate the contents of the Progress Note, including:

    • Note type

    • Session type

    • Treatment approach

  • Updating other fields will not regenerate the Progress Note, but will update the Session Record and related calendar event:

    • Start time

    • End time

    • Duration

  • Regenerating the Progress Note will replace the current one. You can reference or revert to a previous version using the version dropdown in the lower-left corner of the note.

  • Updating session details or using Magic Edit does not use additional Session Credits. Only one Session Credit is used per session, regardless of how many changes or regenerations are made.
