Telehealth: How to host telehealth sessions with Blueprint's built-in telehealth feature

Run and record your telehealth meeting at the same time, all within one Blueprint tab using our built-in telehealth feature.

Written by Aminda Villamagna

With Blueprint’s built-in telehealth platform, you can run and record your sessions in one single browser tab -- no juggling multiple programs or extra setup.

Benefits of using Blueprint's built-in telehealth feature

  • Secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions

Clients join via a secure link and the telehealth session opens in their internet browser — no app downloads required. Our platform meets strict security and privacy standards.

  • Your own personal telehealth link

As a clinician, you have a single telehealth link that you can share with all your clients, and a waiting room to admit the right clients to your session.

  • Fast, accurate progress notes

Notes are generated even faster and more accurately than recording the audio of a third-party hosted telehealth session.

  • Multiple participants, screen-sharing, and noise cancellation

Telehealth is Included in every plan

Blueprint Telehealth is included in every Plan and is ready for you to use with your clients as soon as you sign up for Blueprint.

To start a Blueprint Telehealth session, click Start Video Session anywhere in Blueprint -- Blueprint will guide you through the rest! Detailed steps are below.

How to run and record a telehealth session using Blueprint's built-in telehealth platform

  1. From your Sessions Dashboard, click "Start Video Session"

  2. Select an existing client or add a new one

  3. Check your camera and microphone options by playing the test sound and speaking out loud

  4. When you're ready to join the telehealth meeting, click "I'm all set"

  5. If your client is already in the waiting room you'll immediately see a blue pop-up in the lower-right that says "Someone's in the waiting room."

If your client hasn't joined the waiting room yet, the blue pop-up will appear when they do join.

Whenever you're ready, click the "Admit" in the blue pop-up or within the "People" panel (also located in the lower-right corner.)

  6. That’s it! After clicking "Admit", your telehealth session and the recording will begin.

Tips for a Smooth Experience

  • We recommend that both you and your client use the Google Chrome internet browser.

  • Encourage clients to find a quiet, private space for their session.

  • Use a stable, strong internet connection when possible. If multiple people are utilizing your wifi during a session, it can slow things down.
